Have you ever been so stressed out that you start to have a panic attack or tension headaches ( which btw hurt like hell when you’re getting them massaged out). I’ve learned to before I get to those stages to use mindfulness. At first, I completely thought it was a waste of my time, and thought the who taught it was stupid for implying that all I need to destress was to do DEEP BREATHING. Like really! But that’s not all to it, because deep breathing wasn’t my thing obviously, lol. Clearing my mind didn’t help because it made be think of all my worries. My biggest helper was guided meditation. It made me focus on someone’s voice instead of my inner voices. All I had to do was follow my guide. My stress would go down significantly. Hope this helps you.
